Magical Christmas Spirit with Trio Mediaeval – Yule and Josefine's Christmas Hymn

When Trio Mediaeval interprets a piece, it’s not just a performance – it’s a transformation. Trio Mediaeval, the Nordic vocal ensemble that has enchanted audiences around the world with their unique interpretations of both ancient and contemporary music, is back with a new Christmas album. YULE is the album that offers a magical journey, and at the heart of this collection lies my new, original composition: JOSEFINES JULESALME.

It is an honor to see Trio Mediaeval bring it to life with their extraordinary vocal brilliance and musical depth. The composition was born out of a desire to capture that sense of wonder, almost childlike, that Christmas can bring, while still carrying a weight of tradition and spiritual reflection,. The trio is enforced with the outstanding Arve Henriksen (jazz trumpet), Anders Jormin (double bass), Sinikka Langeland (Finnish harp/kantele) and Helge Nordbakken (percussion). They interpret the hymn with such devotion that it sounds like an ancient, primal force that has always been there. – as if the hymn has been waiting to be heard in exactly this way.

With JOSEFINES JULESALME, I send my heartfelt greetings to all of you – the voices that fill our hearts with joy and harmony in choirs all over the world. An a cappella version of the song will be available for you next Christmas season.
